Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Resealable Plastic Bag or Dish
  • Grill or skillet

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, chopped green onions, pressed garlic, and vegetable oil. Whisk everything together until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken in a resealable plastic bag or a dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice it up and serve it with steamed rice, stir-fried vegetables, or salad.

Notes

  • For a spicier marinade, add red pepper flakes or sriracha.
  • Marinate longer for better flavor absorption, up to overnight.
  • This marinade works well with tofu or pork as alternatives.
