  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup honey

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Pastry Brush
  • Sharp Knife
  • Medium Saucepan
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and let phyllo dough come to room temperature.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Baking Dish. Grease your 9x13-inch baking dish lightly with melted butter.
  3. Step 3: Layer the Phyllo Dough. Unroll the phyllo dough, keeping it covered with a damp cloth. Place one sheet in the baking dish, brush with melted butter, and repeat for about 8 sheets.
  4. Step 4: Add Nutella and Chocolate Chips. Spread 1 cup of Nutella over the layered phyllo dough, then sprinkle half of the chocolate chips on top.
  5. Step 5: Continue Layering. Add another layer of phyllo dough, brushing each sheet with butter until you have used about 8 more sheets.
  6. Step 6: Top with Nutella and Chocolate. Spread the remaining 1 cup of Nutella over the last layer of phyllo, followed by the rest of the chocolate chips.
  7. Step 7: Final Layers. Add another 8 sheets of phyllo dough on top, brushing each with melted butter.
  8. Step 8: Cut the Baklava. Carefully cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.
  9. Step 9: Bake. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Step 10: Prepare the Syrup. Combine water, sugar, and honey in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes and let cool.
  11. Step 11: Soak the Baklava. Pour the cooled syrup over the baklava while it’s still hot.
  12. Step 12: Cool and Serve. Allow to cool completely before serving.
