Ingredients

For the Doughnuts:
  • 8 rolls refrigerated dinner rolls
  • 4 cups canola oil for frying
For the Filling:
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 4 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar divided
For the Chocolate Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk
For Garnish:
  • 2 sheets graham crackers coarsely crushed

Equipment

  • Deep fryer or large heavy pot
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Slotted spoon
  • Cooling rack

Method

Make Marshmallow Cream Filled Smores Doughnuts:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Dough - Start by taking your refrigerated dinner rolls out of the packaging. Allow them to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften.
  2. Step 2: Shape the Doughnuts - Gently stretch each roll into a doughnut shape, creating a hole in the center. Let them rest for another 10-15 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Heat the Oil - In your deep fryer or heavy pot, heat the canola oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  4. Step 4: Fry the Doughnuts - Carefully place a few doughnuts into the hot oil, fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  5. Step 5: Make the Filling - In a mixing bowl, combine the marshmallow fluff, cream cheese, and 1 cup of powdered sugar. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  6. Step 6: Fill the Doughnuts - Use a piping bag to fill each doughnut with the marshmallow cream mixture.
  7. Step 7: Prepare the Chocolate Glaze - In a small saucepan, heat the chocolate chips and milk over low heat until melted and smooth.
  8. Step 8: Glaze and Garnish - Dip the tops of each filled doughnut into the chocolate glaze and sprinkle with crushed graham crackers.

Notes

  • Store leftover doughnuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • For a healthier option, use whole wheat dinner rolls.
  • Allow dough to come to room temperature for easier shaping.
