Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup fat-free sour cream
  • 3/4 cup fat-free Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Hellman's light mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cups 1% low-fat buttermilk

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Storage Container

Method

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients on the kitchen counter. This makes the preparation process smoother and more enjoyable.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the 3/4 cup of fat-free sour cream, 3/4 cup of fat-free Greek yogurt, and 1/3 cup of Hellman's light mayonnaise. Using a whisk, blend these ingredients until they are smooth and well combined.
  3. Next, sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, chopped chives, chopped parsley, salt, and freshly ground pepper. Whisk again until the herbs and spices are evenly distributed throughout the creamy base.
  4. Slowly pour in the 2 cups of 1% low-fat buttermilk while whisking continuously. This will help to create a nice, pourable consistency for your dressing.
  5. Taste the dressing and decide if you’d like to add 1-2 tablespoons of white balsamic vinegar for a bit of tang. Adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  6. Transfer your Low-fat Buttermilk Ranch Dressing to a storage container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

  • Don’t rush the chilling process; it helps the flavors develop.
  • Be generous with fresh herbs for an extra burst of flavor.
  • If the dressing is too thick, add more buttermilk to adjust the consistency.
  • Taste as you go and adjust flavors according to your preference.
