Preparation Steps:
- Start by blending the peeled Fuji apple, garlic cloves, soy sauce, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, sesame oil, and plum extract in a blender or food processor until smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced ribeye steak with the marinade. Make sure all the pieces are well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally up to 4 hours.
- While your beef is marinating, slice the yellow onion thinly.
- Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef along with the onions, cooking until the beef is browned and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the bulgogi from the heat and serve it hot.
Notes
- For the best flavor, marinate the beef overnight if you have the time.
- Choose high-quality ribeye steak for tenderness and flavor.
- Make sure your pan is hot enough before adding the beef to achieve a nice sear.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the marinade by varying the amount of brown and granulated sugar.
