Ingredients

  • 400 g ground beef
  • 200 g cheese (choose your favorite type)
  • 2 tomatoes (diced)
  • 1/2 head iceberg lettuce (leaves separated)
  • 80 g jalapeƱos (sliced)
  • 100 g ketchup
  • 30 g fried onions
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Serving platter

Method

  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Add the 400g of ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Once the beef is browned, add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1/2 tsp paprika. Stir well to incorporate the spices into the meat. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. While the beef is cooking, rinse and separate the leaves of the 1/2 head of iceberg lettuce. Pat them dry with a paper towel. These will serve as your wraps.
  4. On each lettuce leaf, add a generous scoop of the seasoned ground beef. Top with diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeƱos, a sprinkle of cheese, and a drizzle of ketchup. Finish off with a sprinkle of fried onions for that added crunch.
  5. Place the assembled wraps on a serving platter. These Ground Beef Lettuce Wraps are best enjoyed fresh, so serve them immediately and let everyone dig in!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground beef with lentils or a plant-based meat alternative.
  • To add more vegetables, include shredded carrots, cucumber, or bell peppers.
  • Store cooked ground beef in an airtight container for up to 3 days, but keep lettuce separate until serving.
