Start by spreading the softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on your microwave-safe plate. Layer the cheese on top and then cover it with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
To avoid a soggy sandwich, place a paper towel underneath the plate.
Microwave your sandwich on high for about 30 seconds. If it’s not fully melted, continue microwaving in 10-second intervals until gooey.
Once the cheese is melted, carefully remove the plate from the microwave and let your sandwich sit for a minute.
Cut your sandwich in half, and enjoy the melty goodness.
