Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ tablespoon white sesame seeds
  • ½ tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts skin on
  • 1 handful fresh coriander

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Serving Dish

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk together until well blended.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil if needed.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving it. Cook the chicken skin-side down for about 6-7 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and simmer until it thickens slightly, coating the chicken in a glaze.
  6. Sprinkle both sesame seeds over the chicken and cook for an additional minute to toast the seeds.
  7. Remove the chicken and garnish with fresh coriander. Serve warm with rice or salad.

Notes

  • Marinate chicken for up to 24 hours for deeper flavor.
  • Substitute chicken thighs for juicier results.
  • Add vegetables for a complete one-pan meal.
