  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter for greasing the pan
  • to taste syrup maple syrup or honey

Instructions
  1. Gather your ingredients and have them measured and ready.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the milk, egg yolk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grease it with butter.
  6. Pour the batter into the skillet, forming a pancake about 4-5 inches in diameter. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Carefully flip the pancake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Transfer to a plate, top with butter and syrup, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking.
  • You can substitute half the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • Get creative with toppings such as sliced bananas, nuts, or yogurt!
