Easy no yeast Air Fryer flatbread pita

Ingredients
  

For the Flatbreads:
  • 2 cups flour All-purpose flour works best
  • 1 tsp salt Enhances flavor
  • 1 tsp baking powder Helps the flatbreads rise
  • ¾ cup water Adjust for dough consistency
  • ¾ cup plain or Greek yoghurt Adds moisture and richness
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil Keeps flatbreads tender

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula or tongs

Method
 

Cooking Instructions:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. Whisk together.
  2. Make a well in the center, add yoghurt and water, then drizzle in olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide dough into 6-8 portions, roll each into a ball, and flatten into discs about ¼ inch thick.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Place flatbreads in air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
  7. Carefully remove flatbreads and let cool on a wire rack or towel.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze flatbreads in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat in the air fryer or a pan for a few minutes before serving.
