In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped yellow onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until translucent.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Add the pound of lean ground turkey meat and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
Pour in the 25 ounces of tomato sauce and stir well to combine.
Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Serve over pasta or enjoy on its own, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
