Easy Ground Turkey Bolognese

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 large yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey meat
  • 25 ounces tomato sauce
  • Italian seasoning optional
  • salt optional
  • pepper optional
  • fresh basil for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped yellow onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the pound of lean ground turkey meat and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Pour in the 25 ounces of tomato sauce and stir well to combine.
  6. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Serve over pasta or enjoy on its own, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe container.
