Ingredients

  • 1 pound store-bought pizza dough
  • 1/2 pound white American cheese slices
  • 1/4 to 1/2 pound grilled chicken, sliced use leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience
  • 2 tablespoons thinly sliced white onions
  • 1/3 cup Franks Red Hot Buffalo Wings Hot Sauce

Equipment

  • Pizza Stone or Baking Sheet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Sharp Knife
  • Brush
  • Oven mitts

Method

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your store-bought pizza dough to your desired size and thickness. Aim for about 12 inches in diameter for a classic pizza shape. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
  3. Using a brush, spread a generous layer of Franks Red Hot Buffalo Wings Hot Sauce over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
  4. Cover the buffalo sauce with slices of white American cheese. Make sure to overlap the slices slightly to ensure even coverage.
  5. Distribute the sliced grilled chicken evenly over the cheese layer. Then, sprinkle the thinly sliced white onions on top. These will add a delightful crunch and flavor when baked.
  6. Carefully transfer the pizza (with the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the crust are golden brown.
  7. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. This will make slicing easier. Cut into wedges and serve hot!

Notes

  • Let the dough come to room temperature before rolling it out; this makes it much easier to handle.
  • Don't overload the pizza with toppings; a thin layer of each ingredient allows for better baking.
  • Experiment with additional toppings like diced celery or blue cheese for an extra flavor boost.
