Cooking Steps:
- Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the farfalle pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a small cup of pasta water just in case you need to loosen up the sauce later.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it! Next, add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the skillet. Season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook the chicken until it's browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the chicken is cooked, lower the heat to medium-low. Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet and let it melt. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing it with the creamy Cajun sauce until everything is well coated. Stir in the freshly grated parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and enhance the richness of the dish.
- Taste the pasta and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you're adding fresh vegetables, toss them in now for a pop of color and nutrition. Serve hot, garnished with extra parmesan if desired, and enjoy your Easy Cajun Chicken Pasta!
Notes
- Always taste and adjust the seasoning to your liking. Some Cajun seasonings can be spicier than others!
- For a vegetarian version, omit the chicken and use mushrooms or chickpeas as a protein source.
- Be sure to use freshly grated parmesan cheese for the best flavor and texture.
- If you’re feeling adventurous, add a splash of hot sauce for an extra kick!
