Preparation Steps:
- Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your coffee is cooled to room temperature before you start mixing - hot coffee will alter the consistency of your batter.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your brownies will bake evenly and rise perfectly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix with the cooled coffee, following the measurements specified on the box. Stir in the cocoa powder and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips to the brownie batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Prepare your baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal. Pour the brownie batter into the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake according to the package instructions, usually about 30-35 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing. This allows them to set properly and makes cutting easier.
Notes
- For a minty twist, add a few drops of mint extract to the batter.
- Swirl in some peanut butter before baking for added richness.
- Store brownies in an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to 3 days.
