Ingredients
  

For the Tuna Mixture:
  • 1 12-ounce can white albacore tuna packed in water (drained)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 stalk celery finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
For Assembly:
  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Method
 

Preparation Steps:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, finely diced celery, minced parsley, sweet pickle relish, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir until well incorporated. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Lay the slices of sourdough bread on a clean surface. Spread the tuna mixture on two slices, then top with shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Place the remaining slices on top to create sandwiches.
  4. Transfer the sandwiches to a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, cut in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can prepare the tuna mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
  • For a healthier option, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
  • Try different cheeses like Monterey Jack for a unique flavor.
