Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese into the dry mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter and buttermilk. Whisk until thoroughly combined.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir with a rubber spatula until just combined.
  6. Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, drop generous amounts of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. While the biscuits are baking, melt a tablespoon of butter and mix in a pinch of garlic powder and smoked paprika.
  9. Once the biscuits are golden brown, remove them from the oven and immediately brush with the garlic butter mixture.
  10. Sprinkle with dried parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze wrapped biscuits for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in the oven or microwave until warm.
