Ingredients

For the Chow:
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Cheerios cereal
  • 3 cups peanuts
  • 3 cups pretzel pieces
  • 3 cups red & green M&Ms
  • 20 ounces white chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons solid vegetable shortening

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Spatula

Method

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Baking Sheet
Start by lining a large baking sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent the mixture from sticking and make cleanup a breeze.
  2. Step 2: Melt the Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate and solid vegetable shortening. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Step 3: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the Rice Chex cereal, Cheerios, peanuts, pretzel pieces, and red and green M&Ms. Stir gently to avoid crushing the cereals.
  4. Step 4: Combine with Chocolate
Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the dry ingredients. Use a spatula to gently fold everything together until all the dry ingredients are evenly coated.
  5. Step 5: Spread on Baking Sheet
Transfer the chocolate-coated mixture to your prepared baking sheet. Spread it out evenly, ensuring it’s not clumped together.
  6. Step 6: Cool and Set
Allow the mixture to cool completely at room temperature, or pop it in the refrigerator for quicker setting. Once set, break it into pieces and enjoy!
