Ingredients

  • 36 pieces Golden Oreos (or other crunchy vanilla cream cookies)
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup Nonpareil sprinkles (optional)
  • 18 ounces Green candy melts
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles (optional)

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Fork or dipping tool

Method

  1. Begin by placing the Golden Oreos in a food processor. Pulse until you achieve a fine crumb texture. This will be the base for your creamy filling.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed cookies with the softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined. The mixture should be smooth and easily moldable. If desired, stir in the nonpareil sprinkles for a festive touch.
  3. Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls, about one inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Once all the mixture is rolled, chill the balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts according to the package instructions. Stir until smooth.
  5. Once the Oreo balls are firm, dip each one into the melted green candy melts. Use a fork or dipping tool to ensure they are fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. While the candy coating is still wet, sprinkle the tops with heart-shaped sprinkles or any other decorations you like.
  7. Allow the coated Oreo balls to set at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for quicker setting. Once the candy coating is firm, they are ready to enjoy!

Notes

  • Chill the mixture before rolling; it helps the balls hold their shape.
  • Ensure the candy melts are fully melted and smooth for easy coating.
  • Decorate while the coating is still wet to ensure the sprinkles stick!
