Ingredients

For the Chicken:
  • 2 to 2.5 pounds boneless chicken breast or thighs
  • 8-10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 bell peppers (any color)
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Chicken. Cut the boneless chicken into bite-sized pieces for quicker cooking and better sauce absorption.
  2. Step 2: Make the Garlic Sauce. Whisk together the dark soy sauce, honey, and cornstarch in a mixing bowl until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Step 3: Cook the Chicken. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add sesame oil, and then the chicken. Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Step 4: Add the Garlic and Peppers. Add minced garlic and chopped bell peppers to the skillet, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Step 5: Combine with the Sauce. Pour the garlic sauce over the chicken and vegetables, stirring to coat. Cook for another 2-4 minutes until thickened.
  6. Step 6: Garnish and Serve. Remove from heat, sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds, and serve over rice or noodles.
