Method

Cooking Cheesecake Squares: The Process
  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Begin by preheating your oven to 325°F (160°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Crust - In a mixing bowl, combine melted salted butter and packed light brown sugar. Gradually add all-purpose flour and finely ground walnuts, stirring until resembling wet sand. Press firmly into the greased baking dish.
  3. Step 3: Bake the Crust - Place the crust in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let it cool slightly.
  4. Step 4: Make the Cheesecake Filling - In a clean mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar, egg, milk, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  5. Step 5: Assemble and Bake - Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust, spreading evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the filling is set but slightly jiggles in the center.
  6. Step 6: Cool and Slice - Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing into squares.
