  • 24 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips Two 12-ounce bags, divided
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • 8x8-inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter along with 1 bag of the semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring constantly until smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until well combined. Add in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, stirring continuously until everything is fully incorporated.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the second bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Line your 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper and pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Once baked, let the brownies cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before lifting them out and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
