Ingredients

  • 4 6-oz salmon fillets
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter divided into 4 equal pieces

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Whisk
  • Fish spatula

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures that your salmon cooks evenly and comes out perfectly flaky.
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, chopped dill, salt, pepper, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and extra virgin olive oil. Whisk the ingredients together until they are well combined.
  3. Step 3: Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down, leaving space between each fillet.
  4. Step 4: Pour the marinade over the salmon fillets, ensuring each piece is coated evenly. Add a piece of butter on top of each fillet for added richness.
  5. Step 5: Bake the salmon for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
  6. Step 6: Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve warm, garnished with additional fresh dill and a lemon wedge if desired.

Notes

  • Allow leftovers to cool before storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • For freezing, wrap salmon tightly and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes to retain moisture.
