Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1-2 pounds salmon fillet (no skin)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions (chopped)

Equipment

  • Aluminum foil
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Grater or knife

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, sweet chili sauce, lime juice, minced ginger, and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Step 3: Lay a large piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet. Place the salmon fillet in the center and pour the glaze over it. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
  4. Step 4: Fold the sides of the foil over the salmon to create a sealed packet.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 15-20 minutes until the salmon flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Step 6: Carefully open the foil packet and transfer the salmon to a plate. Drizzle with any remaining glaze and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Marinate the salmon in the glaze for 30 minutes for enhanced taste.
  • Don’t discard the leftover glaze; it’s flavorful and can be used over vegetables.
