Course: Appetizer, Main Course
Cuisine: Seafood

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Raw Shrimp defrosted, shells removed, tails on or off
  • 1 teaspoon Avocado Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Bowl
  • Spoon or Tongs
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Begin by ensuring your shrimp are fully thawed if using frozen shrimp. Remove the shells if they haven’t been taken off yet, and pat them dry with a paper towel for better seasoning adhesion.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp with 1 teaspoon of avocado oil, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of black pepper. Toss the shrimp well until they are evenly coated with the seasonings.
  3. Set your air fryer to preheat at 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes. Preheating helps achieve that desired crispiness.
  4. Once preheated, place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even crisping.
  5. The shrimp should be pink and opaque when fully cooked. If you have a meat thermometer, check that the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  6. Carefully remove the shrimp from the air fryer and serve immediately. They pair beautifully with a fresh salad, over pasta, or as a stand-alone appetizer. Enjoy the garlicky goodness!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispiness.
  • Feel free to customize the seasoning with other spices like paprika or cayenne for an extra kick!
