Ingredients
  

For the Dinner:
  • 1.5 lb flank steak choose a high-quality cut
  • 4 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil extra virgin recommended
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce for depth of flavor
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar adds sweetness and acidity
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper optional
  • 2 tsp cracked pepper freshly cracked
  • 1 tsp salt to enhance flavors
  • 1 serving rice for serving; white, brown, or cauliflower rice

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) for roasting.
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, crushed red pepper, cracked pepper, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Place the flank steak in the marinade and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Wash and cut the broccoli into florets.
  5. Step 5: Line the sheet pan with parchment paper, lay the steak in the center, and spread the broccoli around it. Drizzle remaining marinade over the broccoli.
  6. Step 6: Roast in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until steak reaches desired doneness.
  7. Step 7: Remove from oven and let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  8. Step 8: Serve the sliced steak and broccoli over rice, drizzling with pan juices.

Notes

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • To freeze, place cooled steak and broccoli in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
