Instructions
  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Baking Pan - Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal later.
  2. Step 2: Melt the Chocolate - In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of dark chocolate chips and ½ tablespoon of salted butter over low heat, stirring continuously until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Create the Bottom Layer - Pour half of the melted chocolate into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly across the bottom, and refrigerate for about 10 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Prepare the Caramel Mixture - Combine the caramel bits and heavy cream in the same saucepan, cooking over low heat until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Step 5: Mix with Rice Krispies - In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining rice krispie cereal with the melted caramel and stir until coated.
  6. Step 6: Layer the Caramel and Cereal - Spread the caramel and rice krispie mixture over the set chocolate layer, pressing down gently.
  7. Step 7: Add the Final Chocolate Layer - Melt the remaining 1 cup of dark chocolate chips and ½ tablespoon of salted butter, then pour it over the caramel layer.
  8. Step 8: Chill and Set - Return the pan to the refrigerator and let the layers set for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate is firm.
  9. Step 9: Cut and Serve - Once set, lift the candy bars out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares or bars.

Notes

  • Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Be patient while melting chocolate and caramel to avoid scorching.
  • Let each layer set properly to maintain structure.
